Little piece of heaven

I am a little obsessed with Godiva and by little I mean a lot. The other day I went to the Godiva boutique and spent about $110 bucks on truffles. And they didnt last long either . sigh

I’m in love with their bakery truffles, espeically red velvet cake truffle xD I celebrated yesterday by eating  a box full! What was I celebrating? Having successfully done about 300 pages of writing in the past week! I ‘m sure this is how much work goes into a doctoral thesis! They should just grant me a PhD instead of an A.B. Just sayin!

Let your heart be light

For those of us  who go to university, the last few weeks before Christmas are not all about the Holiday Season, we have a much more critical issue in our life at this time, called Finals Week. At my school, we have Dead Week going on right now which does not refer to the the fact that campus is dead or we have no assignments, it in fact refers to the state of our being at the moment.  I have had about 350 pages of writing to turn in this week and it’s just Tuesday. Obviously I have been doing that all last week and weekend, inspite of the heavy load of the LSATS. Life is…hard.

But that does not mean I don’t get into my Christmas spirit, boom!   I make use of my favorite Christmas songs to act as supplements or boosters while I’m hard at writing. I love listening to some old style crooners as well as new ones. My favorite song has to be “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas, just like the ones I used to know ” , the deep baritone and the jazzy blue feel to this song makes me ecstatic. And ofcourse “All I want for Christmas is You” :D This song has the potential to make you feel really bad if you’re single though, but that doesnt bother me really because I’m just so happy.  Everyone must note that I am being a multi tasker right now and writing this blog post while I wait for my professor’s office hours to begin. Hmmm. Anyway, will write soon. Posting some Christmassy pictures I took in NYC last week. The City lights up so much more during the Holiday Season.  God I love NY so much. And I know it loves me too. A quote by John Lennon comes to mind.

“If I’d lived in Roman times,
I’d have lived in Rome.
Where else?
Today America is the Roman Empire and New York is Rome itself.”
John Lennon

the chemicals between us

LSAT is o.v.e.r.

What a good  great feeling. I’m celebrating by jamming to Bush all day. Seriously, no one makes better music. When it comes to alternative rock that is. And when Gavin Rossdale sings “Chemicals between us” , I just get an out of body experience! xD

So since I can relax for a while now cause I just ran an academic marathon, you can expect some cool new posts soon . But for now listen to this ridiculously sick song.

- The One who wants you to remember every word she ever said.

“I want you to remember
A love so full it could send us all ways
I want you to surrender
All my feelings rose today
And I want you to remain

The power of children can amaze
I’ll try not to complain
I know that’s a pisser baby

The chemicals between us
The walls that lie between us
Lying in this bed
The chemicals displaced
There is no lonelier place
Than lying in this bed “

Ballet Slipper Charm from Tiffany & Co

Tomorrow. The day of my LSAT. To say I am deathly nervous would be an understatement. I am unprepared and I am hoping for a miracle. I’m sending these wishes into the void of the universe hoping God listens.

Also, something cool happened  today, I ordered a beautiful royal purple Ralph Lauren gown for the Christmas wedding of my cousin Misha. :) To my delight, the customer service at Ralph Lauren was overtly considerate and gave me a very heavy holiday discount.  The guy who was assisting me was  super gorgeous and looked exactly like Denzel Washington. So yes, I am not complaining at all.  Once I get the dress, pictures shall follow suit !

Since December is here, I think its time we all created our holiday wish-lists. I have mine all ready and good to go. One of the things on it , is this delicate Tiffany charm, for the little dancer in me. It’s pink, beautiful and very christmassy. And I love Tiffany. Which reminds me, their new holiday video is stunning. I don’t know how they do it, but they manage to get me to dream :) And I love it.

I like corny. I’m looking for corny in my life!

I like corny. I’m looking for corny in my life!

It’s snowing!! When I woke up this morning and looked outside my giant window, everything was white-  a winter wonderland! Where I live, this is going to be the next six months of my life! And I couldn’t be happier!! Snow makes everything so much better , when I walk out today into the cold, snowflakes settling on my skin, I’ll just know the most wonderful time of the year is almost here :P I ‘m so corny. But it’s okay, I like corny. I’m looking for corny in my life? That quote remind you of something? — It’s from the Holiday! One of the most brilliant movies ever made, it’s christmassy and gives hope to those stuck in the dark chambers of unrequited love .  Not that I’m one of them :P

Also, the fact that it’s snowing newly entitles me to say , I can eat a big piece of red velvet cake today. That’s just how it is. Snow and desserts go hand in hand. You can’t pick one or the other. And since red velvet cake is my guilty pleasure, I baked me some as soon as I saw snow on the ground ha! :) Quick thinking!

Snow+red velvet cake + my lovely camel coat = super happy me :)

Ps. This Chloé Camel Coat (how cool does that sound?) is my favorite winter accessory hands down. I’d totally recommend it to anyone wanting a cosy winter coat that looks stunning as well :)

Cheers, world!

For quite sometime now, I have been persistently trying to find ways to figure out a void I could just send all my thoughts into . I get excessively random ideas on a daily basis about food, fashion, fhilosophy ( I love alliteration) :P  But I always find myself unable to put them all down somewhere. That is how peonies paisley and pearls was born today. The name is simply three of my favorite things . Here I will attempt to create a sweet little universe for me and my readers if I ever get any :) So let’s see where this takes me ..

J’aime la vie!

A toasty french brunch

I consider Sunday morning brunch a ritual. To say , I literally wait all week for Sunday to arrive just so I can head to my favorite brunch place and get me some top shelf french toast would be no understatement. To my delight, I have finally discovered brunch heaven-on-earth. And now my exploration for the perfect french toast can take a rest.  On my recent Thanksgiving trip to New York, which is only my favorite place in the world, I happened to have the best french brunch words can

Brasserie's french toast with vermont maple syrup.

describe. The Seagram’s building houses one of the best brunch places in the City called Brasserie , which as the name suggests is one of the most relaxed upscale places in town to get a hearty delicious french toast on a Sunday morning.

As we made our way to the super crowded restaurant, realized that not only did they have the best french toast New York City can boast of, they also featured some pretty savory croissants on the menu;  and trust me when I say this, I get around when it comes to french food! They even had the best maple syrup I have ever tasted. I usually get disappointed whenever I order my favorite dish i.e. french toast because it is usually combined with some not so awesome syrup, but this vermont stuff was quite up there! Well not only did it taste good, it looked divine. Surely enough, I decided to post a few shots. Enjoy :)
